The first thing Justin told me before our first wedding was, “I’m so glad you aren’t nursing this wedding season.” I couldn’t help but laugh. Last year our first born was only 5 months old when wedding season started and I had to leave every 2.5-3 hours to pump or nurse him (if he was close by). It was a lot of running around but we made it work!

It dawned on me, as my husband brought that up, our first wedding season I was pregnant, second year I was nursing, this season I’m pregnant again, and next wedding season I’ll still be nursing. It made me laugh even more.

Our first wedding of the 2026 season was very relaxing and so enjoyable! It makes a world of difference when you plan extra time within your wedding timeline. The couple was a JOY to work with! So courteous, gracious, and such troopers when it came to taking couple portraits (as sometimes they can go long).

We always try to remind our couples to not lose sight of the purpose to a wedding day. Details might fail, timelines might be tight, something will go wrong. But don’t let it take away from the JOY of finding and marrying your spouse. So take a deep breath, if you are getting married this summer remember that the wedding day is only ONE day in celebration of the rest of your lives.
