WORKING WITH us
We believe marriage is one of the most precious gifts God has given us. Justin and I met at our local church and got married 15 months later in Feb. 2023. Being newly weds ourselves, we understand the overwhelming emotions that can come with planning and executing a wedding. We understand the importance of encouraging and supporting couples during their wedding day and making sure the day is as stress free as possible.
You will find our shooting style to be laid back and friendly. At times, we will take charge to get certain shots done, but we mostly love capturing candid moments.
Justin Oleson
I'm the main shooter of Oleson Photography. I've loved photography for as long as I can remember because it's both creative and technical. Outside of photography, I enjoy working in the blood draw lab at our local hospital and spending time with my family.
SHania Oleson
I'm the second shooter of our duo. Along with capturing moments throughout the wedding day, I assist with timeline, planning, and logistics. On the weekdays, I'm a Registered Nurse and love what I do. I learn something new every day!
You know you want great images!
But what you may not realize is that your experience with your photographer matters more than anything! In order to get those genuine portraits that truly capture who you and your fiancé are, you have to feel comfortable with the person taking them. Creating comfortable, joyful, and genuine client experiences is what we specialize in and we are excited to share more about what the Oleson Photography experience includes!
THE EXPERIENCE
6-8 hour coverage
We only offer full day coverage. We need a minimum of 6-8 hours to capture the full story of your day with a stress free timeline. Full day wedding coverage give you the peace of mind that Justin and I will be there to cpature all the moments from getting ready, the ceremony, dance floor, and exit. We believe this allows us to perform our best work!
Second photographer
We believe a second shooter is essential for a wedding day. Essential during the high stakes moments (i.e. walking down the aisle, candid moments, and more). Having a second photographer also means having another set of eyes. My wife, Shania, is a non-negotiable part of the day and helps the day run much smoother.
pre-wedding consULTATIONs
We don't like to leave our wedding clients high and dry. We provide constant communication and ability to help you answer all your questions related to your wedding (not just photography)! We assist with first look vs. traditional, wedding timeline planning, family formal sample list, vendor recommendations and more. Above all we are passionate about helping you remember that your wedding day is a celebration of the rest of your lives!

How many images can we expect?
We love being both interactive and discreet
throughout the wedding day. There wil be
parts of the wedding day when we wil need to
be in control in order to accomplish everything
that needs to be done in order to keep
everyone on schedule. There wil also be
moments when you shouldn't know that we
are there (the ceremony, dances, toasts, etc).
What is our shooting style?
We average 500-800 photos for a 6-8 hour
wedding day. These are 500-800 images that we have culled and edited out of thousands. You will have the ability to print, share, and download your images as much as you want. We believe in freely sharing our work because that is what we would want if we
were in your shoes!
When can we expect our gallery? And where are you located?
Your full wedding gallery will be delivered within 6-8 weeks from wedding date. Oleson Photography is located in Soldotna Ak. Travel fees do
NOT apply to weddings in Soldotna, Kenai or
Kasilof.
